Introduction to Alerts

The ability of Site Vigil to alert you of problems as they are spotted was a key design aim of the product. Many packages let you retrospectively analyse a log file and see that there was a problem, very few actively monitor the web and tell you straightaway.

There is a large range of different alert options, and you can easily add your own action as well.

Each error condition has its own separate alert control, so you can make the system in different ways depending on what happens. An alert can be raised each time the error condition is detected or only when the condition is first detected and when eventually cleared.
