Scheduler - Traffic Graph Explanation

The graph used for web site traffic analysis shows current and historical variation in web site traffic. Each box shows the color used and alongside is an explanation of each element in the graph. The light blue background shows the full permitted range of web site traffic that is expected based on the previous week (or day)'s data. If an individual traffic level sample exceeds the upper bound or is below the lower bound an orange error bar is displayed. The solid line graph in dark blue shows the traffic in the current day or week time period. The solid line graph in olive shows the average of traffic over the sampled historical period. The arrow in green indicates the current time. A light blue background indicates time in the future after the next scheduled scan. A light yellow background indicates time between the previous scan and the next scheduled scan.

You can compare one access time profile with another by selecting the name of the other monitor from the list. The comparison is shown as a turquoise line in the graph. Select <none> if you do not wish to compare against another item.

The scale of the graph is in 1 Kb per hour units. So a value of 1.0 indicates that the web site is adding 1 Kb of log file data per hour. The Show average and rangecheck box allows you to view the previous period's data at the same time so that you can compare traffic rate to previous time periods.

The graph scale will automatically adjust to the highest traffic level for the current time period. If you check the Hold scale factor then the scale is not reduced when you select the Next and Previous pages of data. You can view the analysis on a Monthly, Weekly or Daily basis and also display the average and permitted data range of site traffic.

Press Apply to make the changes to the graph and when you are content with the format of the display press Close to close the graph key dialog.
